Hey everyone I’m Aimee! I’m a long time athlete, an exercise fanatic, and a physical therapist by trade. I’m about as passionate as they come with all things health, wellness, fitness, strength and conditioning, and sports. I’ve played several sports such as basketball, softball, rowing, running, soccer, obstacle course racing, CrossFit, and continue to discover new ones such as golf and skiing. I’m also on a constant journey of self-improvement so I read as much as I can as well as listen to various podcasts and audiobooks to better myself just a little bit every single day (the KAIZEN philosophy)! It is for all of these reasons, I define myself as being a ‘Fit Nerd’. I hope this blog inspires you to embrace your inner Fit Nerd on your journey to a consistently better you! 🙂
Hey Everyone! I’m Kate, currently a third year DPT student at Duke University. I got my B.S in Biology at the College of William and Mary, and I also have a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from University of Virginia. And for a few years in between, I interned and worked in endurance sports coaching with Carmichael Training Systems in Colorado Springs, CO. Endurance sports – running and cycling – are my first love, and like many others, I was introduced to physical therapy through a series of bad injuries while training for a marathon. My experiences as an athlete, a coach, and an exercise physiologist color my approach to exercise, performance, injury prevention, and life, and I hope to share some of my passion and knowledge with you! Never stop moving, never stop learning.
